BRONX, NY – It has been a devastating start to the New Year for fellow New Yorkers following the horrific Bronx building fire that occurred on January 9th. Masbia Soup Kitchen Network made hot meals for families and kids who had nowhere to go to make them feel a little more at home.”

MAPLE SHADE NJ – The number of New Jersey residents who have uncertain access to healthy food is expected to increase by 56 percent by the end of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the total number of “food insecure” people to 1.2 million or 13.5 percent of the population – according to a recent report from the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). In an effort to assist those struggling with food insecurities, Woods Edge Apartment Homes is partnering with the Food Bank of South Jersey to provide a Pop-Up Mobile Pantry every fourth Thursday of the month from now through April 22, 2021.

Those in need of food assistance can walk-up or drive-up to Woods Edge Apartment Homes located at 220 S. Lenola Road in Maple Shade from 11am to 12:30pm on selected dates. Masks must be worn to be served. Practice safe social distancing. New Jersey proof of residency is required. Call Woods Edge Apartment Homes to confirm hours and requirements prior to attending.

The Pop-Up Mobile Pantry provides food staples for individuals, families and seniors to make nutritious meals. Food will include: Dairy, produce, frozen meat/poultry and pantry goods (i.e, canned and boxed food).

“One in five New Jersey children are projected to experience food insecurity this year,” said Karen Lang, Property Manager of Woods Edge Apartment Homes. “We must do our part by addressing the immediate need for food faced by struggling families and individuals. This pop-up pantry is one way we are helping to provide relief. UNION CITY, GA – There is no greater act of kindness than to help others when they need it the most. This holiday season, The Summit Apartment Homes in Union City, Georgia, showed appreciation for its residents with a turkey giveaway. “During a time when our community has suffered tremendously as a result of this pandemic, the team at The Summit Apartment Homes pulled together with the help of our vendors in hopes of making the Thanksgiving holiday a little more enjoyable for our residents,” said April Holiday, Community Manager of Summit Apartment Homes.

EAST ORANGE, NJ – When local first responders and long-term care facilities were short on personal protective equipment, one local investment company stepped in to help keep their fellow community members safe during the COVID-19 outbreak. Asden Properties donated 3,000 disposable face masks to the City of East Orange Office of Emergency Management and 2,000 N95 respirator surgical masks to the Township of Maple Shade for distribution to local first responders and long-term care facilities.

Mariana Martinez, Area Property Manager for Asden Properties, coordinated the East Orange donation on behalf of Executive House in East Orange, NJ. “Asden Properties is happy to be able to donate masks to East Orange essential city employees,” said Martinez. “We are glad to be part of the community and look forward to building a relationship with a city that constantly looks out for one another.”
